Simran Suri
Simran grew up working in her mom’s OB/GYN practice and watching her family members manage multiple small businesses. After seeing firsthand what it takes to build a company, Simran developed a deep respect for founders who view no task as too small and no goal as too lofty. These values have remained close to Simran’s heart as an early-stage investor. At Maveron, she’s excited to support teams building tools to make living and working more gratifying for consumers.
Simran’s passion for investing started in college, where she led Johns Hopkins’ student-run venture firm, A-Level Capital, and invested in early-stage businesses founded by Hopkins alumni. At A-Level, Simran focused on businesses improving the lives of consumers across health, work, and family. After graduating, Simran joined the team at Equal Ventures, a thesis-driven, seed-stage firm. At Equal, Simran spent time across verticals like retail and insurance and led the firm’s work in climate and the care economies.
Simran is based in New York but proudly from Central Jersey (which does exist!) and can be found making extensive Spotify playlists, looking for the best iced dirty chai in Manhattan and cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles with her sisters and cousins.
